About Smokey

Smokey is a proven performer with the kind of natural cow sense that can’t be taught. By the legendary High Brow Cat and out of a Doc O’Lena mare, he combines two of the most influential cutting horse bloodlines in the industry.

This 6-year-old gray gelding has been working cattle daily on our 300-head operation and shows the quiet confidence that comes from real ranch work. He reads a cow better than most and has the athletic ability to match whatever they throw at him.

Training & Experience

• Started on cattle at 2 years old

Temperament

Smokey is one of the most level-headed horses in the barn. He stands tied all day without complaint, gets along well with other horses, and is a pleasure to be around. He’s confident but not hot—the kind of horse that makes you look good whether you’re a seasoned competitor or moving up in the sport.
